Forgive us our trespasses...
I was convicted at prayer yesterday - Jesus taught us to pray 'forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us'. Much as we have legitimate strong feelings about the illegal invasion of our land by phony asylum seekers/refugees who are basically unwelcome 'trespassers' on our land, we must by the grace of God forgive them as they trespass against us lest we despise and forfeit God's grace towards our own trespasses - where we have crossed the lines we should have stayed within. Sin is falling short - trespassing is going too far. It is God's kindness that brings us to repentance - and it is through our kindness to these men that they will be won by the love of Christ (which doesn't mean they shouldn't be dealt with in accordance with the laws they broke by being here illegally).
In fact having worded it like that, I see that this is indeed God's judgement on us as a nation for where we have not stayed within the moral framework set out by God in his word - we have trespassed way beyond the safe boundaries he set us, far far outside the walls of the sheep pen, the pastures where under the care of the good shepherd who historically we have safely crazed as European and British peoples... so no wonder the wolf pack has arrived and is ravaging the flock and taking over the safe pastures and making them their hunting grounds for them to fleece and devour the flock (and do to them what they allegedly to do their own goats).
We need to repent and cry out to the good Shepherd, the great fierce warrior shepherd David's greater son, to return to his flock and do to these wolves what David did to the lion and the bear when they attacked his flock - he grabbed the lion by its beard/mane and smote it, and used his sling against the bear, hence the Goliath that terrorised the armies of the Living God was easy prey to this 17 year old red headed youngest son, strippling despised and mocked by his older brothers who had no answer to the giant. Come Lord Jesus... rend the heavens and come down; may he knappeth the spear asunder and breaketh the bow of these ungodly Philistines and show them there is no God like unto our God that created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them, amen!!!!!!
