'Jesus the Geezer!'

'Jesus the Geezer!'
Does that sound disrespectful?! Does it get your religious heckles up?! Well we all know him as Lord, as King of Kings, Lamb of God, Saviour of the world, and rightly honour him and bow before him - but in the prayer meeting this morning, we talked about forgiveness, resentment etc, it was powerful! But as David lead, he mentioned the man who asked Jesus 'how many times should I forgive my brother, 7 times?', and David's words, Jesus replied 'no mate, 70 x 7!' (the Gospel according to David Cashmore!). And in that moment that he put those words in Jesus' mouth 'no mate'... a false, religious image of Jesus in my mind shattered...!!! Jesus was the son of God, but a man of the people - he sat with tax collectors and sinners - if he was walking our streets today, he'd just as likely be 'daan the boozer' with the sinners as he would be in the temple/church on sunday. My own religious spirit is squirming as I write this - am I being sacriligious, irrevererent, disrespectful?! Or have I just had a life changing paradigm shift that has shattered a religious holy cow in my life - Jesus is all of the above - but he's also a diamond geezer... discuss!!  
(I spent my 20's, the 90's, living in Brentwood, Essex, the set of Towie, just to give you context lol! I can slip into the essex accent/vernacular now and again, and accidentally got a bit too salty this morning in my enthusiasm but hey... every now and again it's good to have a barbecue of our 'holy cows', strip away our 'religion', and be reminded of how Jesus left his heavenly throne, and got down in the dust with fallen dirty salty humanity in order to raise us up with him, and not to leave us in our filth, in our ditch... thanks for an awesome powerful morning Dave - there were only 5 of us but it was amazing!!)

The Woman with the flow of blood healed by touching the hem of Jesus' garment represents the end of the flow of the blood of sheep and goats for the atonement of the sins of Israel!
