Offering an abomination to God in the secret place of our own hearts...

I have stumbled in the past, and still stumble in the area of sexual temptation. In the past more overtly in the area of fornication, my divorce broke me and I no longer knew what was right or wrong, but more recently in the secret place, in my imaginations etc - but it's in the secret place, the Holy of Holies that God desires to meet us. Daniel talks about the Holy of Holies being desecrated by offering an abomination on the altar, and there came a time when a pig was offered on it... well that's like us trying to offer our sinful flesh and come into the Holy of Holies bringing our vile sinful flesh which the offering of a pig represents... we defile our temple, which is meant to be his temple of the Holy Spirit... the only acceptable offering we can bring is the perfect Holy Lamb of God Jesus Christ, shed for the propitiation of our sins...  he gives himself for us, as the offering we ourselves are unable to bring because of our sin and unworthiness... Chris Tomlin wrote this beautiful song a few years ago which captures the wonder of the fact that there is one worthy to open the scroll...
'Is anyone worthy?
Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave
He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
From every people and tribe
Every nation and tongue
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God
To reign with the Son
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this?
He is!
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
He is!
He is!'

PS Scriptures in Daniel that refer to offering this abomination:

I find the first one fascinating, because I keep seeing adverts on youtube calling for the rebuilding of the Temple... I've read lots of interesting stuff about this movement and its significance in the past...

Daniel 9:26-27 NIV
[26] After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. [27] He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

Daniel 11:31-32 NIV
[31] “His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. [32] With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.

Daniel 12:9-12 NIV
[9] He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. [10] Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. [11] “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. [12] Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
