How God redeemed my comfort seeking to provide comfort to a war widow and her orphans...

In a week moment of loneliness earlier this year, a rabbit hole I went down on the internet seeking 'comfort' led me to connect with and chat to someone online who clearly wasn't comfortable providing such comfort - and it's not comfortable sharing this but I know I'm among friends here. I could see straight away she was unhappy and suffering, and any thought of the comfort I was seeking evaporated from my mind - and I'm so grateful that the compassion of Christ in me in that moment ordered my flesh back into its' coffin. I asked her if she was ok, and started to tell her why I was there, my divorce, my loneliness etc etc. She wasn't free to say much, but listened, and in so doing provided the company and the conversation that frankly was enough to alleviate my loneliness in that moment, which was my real problem, and has been for some time. I gave her my contact details, which she said she wasn't allowed to accept, but I gave them anyway. And the online face to face conversation ended, I was having to pay for the privilege, and I was glad to find out subsequently that most of the money went to her, I'll tell you why I was glad in a moment. But what happened next was the lovely part - she contacted me on whatsapp, with a photo to remind me who this was, with the simple message 'Don't think I'll abandon you in this way'...
By accepting my contact details and contacting me directly, she was jeopardising what was her livelihood, paying her rent and keeping food on the table for her 2 kids, a 10 year old daughter and a 3 year old son.
She's a Ukrainian refugee from the war with her 2 kids, her husband having been abducted as cannon fodder for the war with Russian.
She's also been abandoned by her father when she was herself 3 years old, and her mother when she met her husband went off with another man leaving her to marry her husband at 15.

To be continued...
